The Haven Team
My name is Debra Bell and I would like to welcome you to The Haven, a small piece of heaven on the tranquil shores of
Scotland's beautiful Loch Lomond. My dream for The Haven began many years ago while living and working in the Far
East. My time spent in Hong Kong expanded my mind in so many different directions and gave me a greater understanding of simplicity and balance and how achieving this in our lives can enrich our everyday existence beyond belief. In
Australia I learned to appreciate our natural bounty and began creating exotic lotions and potions made purely from
Mother Natures treasure chest of herbs and plant life.
In Thailand I discovered Reiki and learned the importance of finding beauty within. Our body is so powerful there is
nothing we cannot achieve - sometimes we just need a helping hand. And finally in Bali I found bliss. Here I was
introduced to the wonder of the Natural Spa. In this tropical
Paradise I found sanctuaries full of wonderful aromas, sounds, sights and sensations- retreats where you would go to
be pampered and pummeled, spaces where your senses are overwhelmed by the elements, where you would switch off and
simply be. With these thoughts, feelings and memories in mind I created The Haven.

I joined The Haven on it's opening day in 2002. Our Opening Night was on a balmy summers evening (quite a rarity
in Scotland) which resulted in our Appointment Book being full for the first 3 weeks of trading. Since then things
have moved on in many new directions. I attended my first Dermalogica training course in 2003 which opened my eyes to
the exciting new world of Skin Care. This is my real passion and I can honestly say I never tire of learning new
techniques and using my knowledge and skills to help those with problem or difficult skin conditions.
I was extremely proud to be part of the Haven team who attended the Barcelona Skin Care Conference in 2005 where we
were awarded the prestigious 'Platinum Award' for services to our clients. My goals are to continue to learn and grow
with the business while never forgetting that our clients are our most important asset. I hope every single visitor
has an unforgettable experience every time they walk through our doors and that I can play a part in make that happen.
The highlight of my time with the Haven has to be winning The Facial Therapist of the Year Award in London this
year. The evening was spectacular and I still cannot believe it. I'm already planning next years entry so watch this
space!
I joined The Haven almost 4 years ago after finishing my HND in Beauty Therapy. I quickly adapted to my first
experience of working in a fully functioning salon and was amazed at how much goes on behind the scene to make sure
that everything runs smoothly at all times.
I attended my first Post Graduate course in Hot Stone Massage in 2004 and
love working with the stones. It is so different to traditional Massage and has been very popular especially with male clients who work at a desk all day or are involved in manual work.
I am the newest member of the team joining in October 2007 from The Turnberry Hotel in Ayrshire. My specialist area
is Massage including Sports Therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Our new brochure includes some packages designed
specifically for sportsmen and women including the Golfers Tonic (which most men love as it includes a relaxing foot
massage as well).
I have recently completed my Dermalogica Thermal Body Training and am looking forward to offering my clients some
amazing deep heat treatments to help ease those aches and pains.
